Ms. Makler specializes in lemon law and other consumer protection cases (i.e. auto dealer fraud, unfair credit reporting, debt collection abuse, deceptive business practices). She has successfully litigated hundreds of consumer protection cases on behalf of California consumers and has co-authored the firm's winning appellate briefs.

Ms. Makler received her undergraduate degree from University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A.,1993) and her law degree from McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, California (J.D.,1996) and (LL.M,1999.) Licensed to practice law in California in 1997. Former Deputy Public Defender in Santa Cruz County. During law school she held a law clerk position with the California Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Department. There she gained insight into the pervasiveness of consumer frauds in our society and the limited resources available to law enforcement to combat it. Based her law clerk experience and as a court appointed attorney for the indigent, Ms. Makler founded the consumer law practice now known as Makler & Baker LLP specializing in lemon law and auto fraud in 2000. She is a referral attorney for the National Center for Auto Safety and member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
